The Spring Flower Blanket charity draw raised an amazing £10814.95 by the time entry to the draw closed. The Just Giving page for donations to Marie Curie remains open and I’m putting together information for all of you who expressed an interest in making your own Spring Flower Blanket.
This is the first of a series of photogalleries showing each individual square in one row of the blanket in detail. The rest will be added over the coming weeks as time allows.
I will add the colours used and link to tutorials on similar styles of flower square to enable you to build your own blanket, square by square.
There will also be a guide for beginners on how to make a simpler flower blanket, but one that has just as much impact, ideas for alternative colour schemes, and links to more advanced tutorials for intermediate and experienced hookers!
The squares are presented in the order they appear in a row and you can reference the order by looking at the photos of the entire blanket.
All squares were made in Stylecraft Special DK yarn, available worldwide from Woolwarehouse, Deramores and other leading online retailers in the UK.
The colour palette

Sherbet; cloud blue; lavender; wisteria; clematis; apricot; soft peach; lemon; saffron; fondant; candy floss; pale rose; meadow and spring green.
White was OK for the flower but not for the background with a white join and border.
Squares in the first row follow. As further rows are added, they will appear here:
