The Spring Flower blanket was made as part of a community project. 120 women who follow each other on Instagram each contributed a crochet flower square, working with a colour scheme provided by Heather of the blog The Patchwork Heart.
Heather not only arranged the making of the blanket she also crocheted all the squares together and added a beautiful lacy border to set all of the squares off beautifully.
The result is a crochet work of art
The Spring Flower Blanket was the prize in a charity draw held Saturday 25th April 2015
It raised a massive £10814.95!!!!
All funds raised go to Marie Curie Cancer Care direct through Just Giving
The draw is closed but you can still donate!
I am in the process of putting together a gallery containing detailed pictures of each square in the Spring Flower Blanket.
These will help intermediate and advanced crocheters to reproduce their own flower blanket as they like.
Wherever possible I will be providing links to an online pattern (paid or free) or an online tutorial (paid or free).
This obviously takes time and I am adding an ‘honesty box’ to each post so that you can donate £2 to the Just Giving page to further support Marie Curie if you find the information useful.
If you make your own version of the flower blanket I will be pleased to add it to an album on Facebook and feature it on my blog too. Please send your pics to my Facebook page (CrafternoonTreats) or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
