Good things also come in threes! Easy creativity wins

Good things title blog

Welcome to Good things also come in threes: Podcast 121 and the accompanying notes. Watch the video below:

In the last podcast I talked about the old saying that things happen in threes. And by that I generally meant BAD things, like my daughter being allergic to cherries, her moving flat on the hottest day in the summer here in the UK (33C!) and my car brakes having a moment… But good things can also come along in threes and now I have 3 lovely Suddenly Its Summer shawls in very different colourways.

In this episode I’ve also got lots more to share with you, including a lovely new shawl made by one of my patrons using a new Stylecraft yarn, a new bag project that will become a pattern and kit on my Etsy shop very soon, and some really good art projects courtesy of Skillshare.

This video is kindly sponsored by Skillshare and you can take advantage of their extended free trial offer at the moment (July 2021). The first 1,000 people to use this link will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare:

SALE in my Etsy shop!

This weekend I’m having a late July weekend sale in my Etsy shop with lots of yarns reduced between 10% and 50%. There will also be more skeins that include the Suddenly Its Summer shawl pattern FREE with your purchase. Check out the FREE PATTERN section in my Etsy shop. All of my yarns are ethically produced (find out more about that here) and hand-dyed by me.

AND I’ve launched some new yarn clubs for the autumn and winter:

A new crochet bag

I’ve also been experimenting with a new cross-body bag and the first one is now complete. I’ll carry on working on this and will be adding the pattern and kits to my Etsy shop sometime in August.

The Faded Blooms shawl made by Miriam

Miriam, one of my lovely Patrons made the Faded Blooms shawl using the new Charm yarn from Stylecraft – its in the Sunset colourway and its absolutely gorgeous. I produce lots of content each month just for Patrons, so why not come and join us? Check out my Patreon space

The Entwine MCAL by The Crochet Project

I’d only just started this by the time I recorded the podcast and realised that I’d done the second part of row 1 completely wrong! So its looking better now and I’ll be able to show you more in the next podcast (assuming I don’t do it all wrong again…) If you want to join in, its only just started and you can find all the details here.

Other good things about general craftiness

Don’t forget to check out Peggy Dean’s class on Skillshare – smashing flowers makes such lovely prints and its a LOT of fun…

Bit of a garden update

Things are growing really well now but the star of the show is my Borlotti beans that are now over 10 feet tall and already producing baby bean pods…
