My new easy crochet shawl pattern is now released! Its a really easy crochet shawl pattern when you get into it and I’ve made it as easy as possible by adding a link to a video tutorial within the written pattern. This shows you how to start off, the main stitch pattern, and then how to finish with the simple border. It also has a guide to blocking the shawl to create the most beautiful effect.
Where to get this easy crochet shawl pattern
- If you are one of my Patreon space subscribers in one of the four higher tiers, you will get the pattern completely FREE! The pdf file will be available to Patrons in June 2021.
- You and also snaffle a free pattern for the Suddenly Its Summer shawl if you buy a skein of yarn suitable for making it from my Etsy shop.
- You can buy it on Ravelry, and there is a 25% discount code from pattern launch until July 31 2021. Direct link to pattern here.
This shawl looks large but it takes just one skein of sock yarn/fingering weight yarn/4ply yarn that has at least 400 metres of yarn within it (check the yarn label!). A while ago I did a review of other one-skein shawls that you might like to check out too.
I decided to use one of my own handed sock yarns – Magical Moment for my first sample for the Suddenly its summer easy crochet shawl pattern… And one of my tonal darker blue yarns for my second shawl.
Its a lovely, light, airy and frothy shawl, just perfect for summer as a cover-up but also really light as a shawl to wear in colder weather under a coat or jacket.
Find out more about it in Podcast 119 of my podcast:
I decided to make this shawl after having a little change in mindset about how I approach living creatively. And, in one month, I designed the shawl, made the first sample, wrote up the pattern, made a podcast about it, blocked and photographed this first shawl, wrote blog posts about it, designed an Etsy update to create new colourways to go with it, dyed them, made a video and blogs about that for Patrons, then made a second sample in a lovely dark blue.
That’s what inspiration does! I was pretty tired at the end of it though!
