Welcome to episode 112 of the Crafternoon Treats Podcast! This is a bit of an epic episode with two parts:
Today’s episode is all about my new obsession for 2021, making all the jumpers, creating a shed load of sweaters.
The Niamh Crochet Sweater by Marie Wallin
The pattern is a paid on and is available on Ravelry.
This is actually designed as a crochet/knit fusion sweater, but I have diverged from the pattern in many and various ways. Including avoiding most of the knitting. Possibly all of the knitting when its finally finished.
You can find out the whole story of the Niamh sweater as I’ve written up its own blog post.
The Strathcona sweater
This is another paid pattern, which you can buy individually, but which I purchased as part of an ebook, with several patterns including the Kingston Sweater. Both are available on Ravelry.
You can see the start of this sweater, and the needles I bought, in this vlog:
Yarnspirations Raglan sweater
This is a free pattern with a video tutorial.
It is knitted top-down but from just below the neckband. I’ve already gone up from the start and added the neckband to make it easier to try on. I’m doing a striped version to use up some of my stash of Chunky Special from Stylecraft, including the Bellissima Chunky in Pale Rose, and Stylecraft Special Chunky in Parchment and Burgundy. The original is made in Bernat Velvet and you can buy a kit, but I think only if you are in the USA.
