Vlogmas 19

Welcome back and enjoy the video for December 19th:

Video on hand loom weaving in India

This is the video for the section at the end – its amazing and only a couple of minutes long so please do watch it. Its the best one I’ve found for showing the amazing skill of the women who do this incredibly hard work for many hours each day.

Fundraising for KIVA through vlogmas

As I talked about in detail in Episode 88 of the podcast, I have set up a Ko-fi page to accept $3 donations (the price of a coffee) and I will be donating half to a worthwhile project via www.kiva.org. I will also be donating 10% of my income from Patreon for November, December and January.

Kiva provides loans to people in areas of the world with great poverty so that they can establish or grow their own business and fight their way out of that poverty. I am aiming to fund craft-based business and I will be talking about the projects later in vlogmas.

Our first project contribution has now been made to Viamanino in Samoa and I will introduce it in Episode 89 of my podcast. You can also read more about it in this blog post.

Donate $3 if you are enjoying vlogmas

As of today, we have now invested in a further three KIVA projects.

I highlight Sahinur’s project in today’s video. You can check out a video about hand loom weaving in India above and see details of the project below. If you want to know more, an additional blog post will appear here very soon. (I’ll add the link when its ready).

Links to stuff I talk about!

My yarn advent minis were purchased from Wild Rose Yarn and Hedgerow Yarns on Etsy.

My own Etsy shop sale is continuing into January. I have the Amazon warrior skeins at 10% off and already pre-wound into mega cakes, useable as soon as they arrive at your door. The few fade sets I have left are also available at 25% discount.

Lots more yarns are now available at sale price and will stay at that reduced rate over Christmas and the New Year.

See you tomorrow!
