Episode 24 Crafternoon Treats crochet podcast: notes
Welcome to Episode 24 Crafternoon Treats crochet podcast about crochet, yarny pleasures, a bit of knitting, my plans for 2017 and loads of lovely chat.
My blandala pattern is available on Ravelry at a cost of £2. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/blandala-circular-crochet-blanket.
My hand dyed yarn is available at my Etsy shop – https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/CrafternoonTreats Skeins and stitch markers have been disappearing steadily throughout December but there are still a few left… please visit
I’m in go with the flow mode this January and you can find out why and also the reason I don’t need to set myself many new New Year’s resolutions and goals this year…
I’ve also discovered something called hygge – a Danish concept that’s hard to define but to me describes all the things I love best: open fires, candlelight, getting cosy, lovely teas, coffee and cake with friends, wearing warm handmade socks, making and crafting and generally appreciating the good things in life that don’t necessarily cost a lot of money and blink electronically.
Some links to things I talk about
- The Vintage Fairy Light socks (knitted) by Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade – you can buy the pattern here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/vintage-fairy-lights
- The Echinacea shawl by Andree Anne Marceau (AAM Designs on Ravelry). To buy the Echinacea shawl pattern go to the pattern page on Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/echinacea-shawl
- The Amaroo shawl by Deanne of Addydae designs which you can buy at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/amaroo
- The lovely gifted fruity booty teas by T2teas at www.T2tea.com
Mango decided he wasn’t going to play on this podcast – I’ve been reorganising my office over New Year and he has adopted a new favourite spot sitting on my office chair when I’m not on it. I even offered him my original granny stash bag to snuggle in but you can’t get a cat to do anything it doesn’t want to… he certainly knows how to make himself cosy. Cats must be born with inbuilt hygge!

Special mentions and thanks
I received some beautiful gifts this Christmas from friends and family. In particular I’d like to thank the lovely Helen Goodman, AKA @florahoneypot on IG for the notebook and tin for lovely bits and bobs (not boobs – thanks Angela for that it made me giggle a lot). Nicola AKA @creativeexplorer on IG who gave me some yarn that is 50% baby camel and 50% silk and Sue Lord who not only made the beautiful Amaroo shawl using my hand dyed yarn (Pewter and Misty rainbow), she handpainted me a mug with my name and pictures of my two cats.
