Stylecraft Blog Tour 2016: Pattern round-up

stylecraft-blog-tour-2016-round-up-of-all-the-gorgeous-patterns-crafternoontreats-com

During the last week or so I’ve taken part in the Stylecraft blog tour 2016 along with some other bloggers who have all produced fantabulous projects and patterns to show what can be done with 10 x 100g balls of Stylecraft Aran or Stylecraft Chunky yarn.

Two colour ways were available. The first one was cool, blue-themed pack with Denim, Pistachio, Sage, Storm Blue, Silver, Saffron, Pale Rose, Empire, Meadow and Aster. The second was a bit hotter with Spice, Gold, Pomegranate, Pale rose, Pistachio, Sage, Parchment, Storm Blue, Empire and Saffron.

Even I had trouble keeping up at the beginning (I admit I was busy getting my own blog post and pattern finished!) so I thought it would be a good idea to recap and have this blog post as a reference so that you can access all the patterns and posts easily 🙂

Stylecraft blog tour Day 1: Emma Varnam

To start off the Stylecraft blog tour, Emma Varnam premiered her gorgeous Blencathra blanket. Its simple to make but looks stunning.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 2: Jane Crowfoot

Jane did something a bit different – she designed a motif and then explained a bit about her design process and how she chooses colours to make beautiful motifs that work really well in terms of colour balance. You can read up on all this really useful information and get the pattern for the beautiful Diego’s flowers motif here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 3: Keep calm and crochet on

On day 3 the blog tour visited Heather at Keep Calm and Crochet on to see her new design, the Harmonious Hexagon quilt. This is another crochet project and uses the colours in the bright chunky pack to create a rainbow quilt. You can get the pattern here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 4: Le Monde de Sucrette

Angie used the Chunky pack in the brighter colours to make a crocheted granny square stool cover. You can find the pattern here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 5: Stylecraft!

This year Stylecraft joined in with their own blog tour. Here is the lovely pattern designed by Juliet Barnard:

Stylecraft blog tour Day 6: Sandra at Cherry Heart

Sandra of the blog Cherry Heart has a new ripple pattern out called the Bobbing Along blanket and she chose to use the Stylecraft aran pack to show how the colours would work in this lovely design. You can buy the pattern for the full blanket here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 7: Sue Pinner

The very talented designer Sue Pinner used the Chunky brights pack to make a beautiful blanket and you can find the pattern for the Spinning Top pattern here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 8: Phil of The Twisted Yarn

Phil is a fantastic knitter and her crochet patterns are always intricate and beautiful. The scarf she’s made for the blog tour this year is no exception and here it is in all its lovely glory. I can’t believe her friend offered to sew in all the ends though! That’s loyalty…

Stylecraft blog tour Day 9: Sarah of Annaboos house

Sarah produced one of my favourite designs of the entire blog tour. This mega granny wrap made in Chunky looks so warm and snuggly and comforting. Its all I can do to stop going and digging out my stash of chunky yarn right now so I can start making it 🙂 You can get the pattern here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 10: Crafternoon Treats

On day 10 it was my turn and I launched my new Blandala crochet blanket and gave away LOADS of free patterns as part of the blog tour. The pattern is now on Ravelry and is priced at £2. You can see my blog post here and go straight to the Blandala pattern on Ravelry here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 11: Julia of Hand Knitted Things

This was another knitted project in the blog tour – and a really lovely blanket. It looks easy too and the pattern is available to download on Ravelry. Read more about it in Julia’s blog post here.

Stylecraft blog tour Day 12: Heather of The Patchwork Heart

Heather loves the C2C crochet pattern and does it fantastically well. For her post in the blog tour she designed an easy-and-quick-to-make chunky cowl. Each one uses just three balls of chunky yarn and Heather has made 3 in different colourways. Another great project that is making my hook twitch! Read Heather’s blog and get the pattern here.

Thanks for this – good to see them all together. I was expecting a contribution from Lucy too. My favourites are the granny wrap and your blanmandala!

Thank you for your great blog and bringing all these beautiful works of art together. I’m drowning under yarn and projects demanded of me by my younger daughter.
I must finish one project before moving on to another, but have 3 on the go at the moment. I will finish them one at a time.
Beautiful bright winter’s day here on the bonny banks of Loch Lomond. Great for the soul Kathryn. X

Thanks for this post! I missed a few of the projects, so it’s been great to have a quick look at what everybody made!
So chuffed that you like my Granny wrap, too!!
    Have a great weekend,
    Sarah xx
