When I launched the Crafternoon Treats blog at the start of May I set up a Facebook page too. Although I’ve used FB a bit in the past, I’ve not really used a page properly before so its been an interesting experience. It does seem quite heavily weighted towards getting small businesses to advertise now, so its a bit of an uphill struggle to get people to see what you put up there.
This week I’m trying something new – a Facebook giveaway. I made these sterling silver and amethyst earrings recently – actually I made three pairs and the first two were snapped up. So, I hope they will prove popular as a giveaway prize.
To enter the Facebook giveaway you need to visit my Facebook page – Crafternoon Treats is at https://www.facebook.com/crafternoontreats.
Then you will be entered in a random draw if you:
- Like my page
- Like one of the posts displaying the amethyst earrings
- Add a comment, so I know who you are.
You can also send me a friend request and share the link if you like (would be FAB if you did!).
Only open to UK-based entrants and postage is free to the winner. Draw is on Monday evening, 23 June 2014.

More Facebook giveaways planned
I will see how this one works out – when I set it up I had 330 likes on my facebook page. If it goes well, I will think about more giveaways as I would really like to get to 500 likes during June, that would be fantastic.
Fundraising for Marie Curie nurses
The whole point of getting people to find the page on Facebook is to get more traffic to my blog and to generate more funds for Marie Curie cancer nurses. The amount of money that I donate on the earrings I sell vary – sometimes its 100%, other times its 50% or 75% so that I can generate a bit of cash to buy more supplies. Silver wire is expensive and I would like to maybe branch out and sell some bracelets and rings too.
I’m trying to be as transparent as possible and the donations are being sent through my Just Giving page – click the link at the top of the page (its on the top left of my blog and the top right of my main pages). You can see how the donations are building up. Hoping to reach the £100 mark by the end of June too – all these targets, its like being at work!!
